How It Works

Choosing an investment relationship is an incredibly personal process. We initially speak with most potential clients by phone, and then follow up in person so that we can help you assess whether LodeStar® would be a good fit for you and your family. During the initial phone consultation, we will ask you to share basic information about your financial situation and your goals. The next step would be to set up a personal appointment, either at our office in Short Hills or at a place that is convenient for you (as geography allows).

Deciding on an investment advisor can be time-consuming, and we are happy to spend as much time with you as you need to determine if LodeStar® is the right fit for you.

Getting Started

When we agree in principle, that LodeStar® will be your wealth management advisor, you will be given an agreement that details all aspects of the advisor/client relationship. Once you review, agree to and sign that document, two parallel steps within the process will begin.

First, we determine the level of wealth management service you need, then create actionable strategies to help you achieve your goals. Once your assets have been properly allocated, we continually monitor your portfolio to ensure an appropriate balance between risk and reward is maintained.

Simultaneous to the creation of your strategic plan, we prepare all documents required by our custodian, Fidelity Investments, Inc., to establish you as a client of LodeStar®. As a client, you will have convenient online access to your investment account information including monthly statements and transaction confirmations. All ongoing administrative functions related to your investment accounts will be handled by our team of dedicated professionals.
